Nicolette Zangara

Forecaster
Nicolette Zangara

Originally from the Chicagoland area, Nicolette has experienced all types of weather. Her passion for weather began before she could talk. Nicolette's Italian-immigrant grandfather was a pilot and taught her the very basics of weather. From there, she was hooked. Every big storm system had her eyes glued on the television, and she even made a weather book to record changing conditions.

Nicolette spent five years prior to 2022 in Gainesville, Florida. Her studies began at the University of Florida in the College of Journalism and Communications, but she did not graduate as her desire turned to obtain a meteorology degree instead. She plans on finishing her degree at Mississippi State during her time at KY3.

While in Gainesville, Nicolette joined the UF Weather team and the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network. She did live hurricane coverage for the entire state of Florida and provided radio hits for NPR affiliates across the state. After her time with the University of Florida, Nicolette became the Weekend Weather Forecaster for TV20 News, the No. 1 station in Gainesville. She also became an agricultural and weather reporter during her time at WCJB.

In her off time, Nicolette enjoys spending time with her husband Paul and two pets Kane and Onyx. Her passions include figure skating, hiking, and cooking. She is excited to experience seasons again, as well as explore the Ozarks.
