Logan Whaley was promoted to Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter at KAIT in July 2021 after spending over a year as a news multimedia journalist and reporter.
Logan is a graduate of Union University just up the road in Jackson, Tennessee. There, he anchored ‘West Tennessee This Week,’ a program that aired on Jackson’s local NBC affiliate. In addition, he also provided play-by-play and color commentary for the school’s baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball teams, calling key events such as the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament and the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
A proud native of Mayfield, Kentucky, Logan grew up with a passion for sports. Some of his best memories come from watching Murray State Racer basketball games and Atlanta Braves baseball games with his parents.
Outside of work, Logan loves to spend time in his community, preferably over a good video game or winning fantasy football championships.

Two NEA NCAA football teams were in action Saturday afternoon.
Southside moved to 5-0 with a 28-14 victory over Wynne in our Game of the Week. The Southerners are also 2-0 in 5A East play.
One team is guaranteed to start 2-0 in 5A East play Friday night as Southside plays host to Wynne.

Arkansas State men’s basketball began its preparations for its highly-anticipated season, the Red Wolves tipped off their first preseason practice Monday morning at First National Bank Arena.
In the zoom call, Jones recapped the team’s 44-37 victory over Southern Miss, looked ahead to the final non-conference matchup, and took a deep dive into the play of true freshman quarterback Jaylen Raynor.

Raynor threw for 233 yards, rushed for 97 yards, and accounted for 5 TD (3 pass, 2 rush) as the Red Wolves beat Southern Miss 44-37.

Our Game of the Week lived up to the billing. Highland rallied from 11 down in the 4th quarter to beat Gosnell 26-25. The Rebels move to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in 4A-3 play.
The Red Wolves enter year one under Bryan Hodgson with a revamped roster after finishing 13th in the SBC last season with a 13-20 record, 4-14 in conference play.
Gosnell will host Highland in the 4A-3 opener. Both teams will be extra prepared for the matchup, both squads were on a bye week last week.

The Red Wolves needed a spark in the worst way after being outscored 110-3 to start the season. They found it in a tune-up 31-7 victory over Stony Brook. So much so that there will be a three-way battle of who will be the QB1 for the Sun Belt opener against Southern Miss.
Butch Jones says the starting quarterback will be decided based on who has the best week of practice.

Arkansas State will receive $1.25 million to play TCU in Fort Worth on September 19, 2026. The program will also receive $1.1 million to play Georgia Tech in Atlanta on September 4, 2027.
