Suspect in Monday afternoon shooting arrested
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The suspect in a Monday afternoon shooting has been arrested.
According to Jonesboro police, Dedward Demarious James, 19, of Jonesboro, was arrested Monday just after 3:30 p.m.
About 30 minutes prior to James’ arrest, Jonesboro E911 confirmed that a woman was shot in the leg in the 200 block of Rogers Street and that police were out searching for a man driving a black Acadia.
The Craighead County Sheriff’s Office said James is expected at a probable cause hearing scheduled for March 22 for suspicion of committing a terroristic act.
At the scene of the shooting, a firearm containing 13 rounds of ammo was found in the victim’s home. Multiple shell casings were also found on the property.
The report also indicated that three women are suspects in this case. No identifying information or information on their connection to the case has been shared.
The events that led up to the shooting have also not been shared by police.
