Suspect arrested in fatal Jonesboro shooting
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A 31-year-old man is behind bars after Jonesboro police suspected him of being behind a late-night shooting that left one person dead.
The department posted on social media that on Monday, March 13, Russell Malone was arrested for the shooting that resulted in the death of 37-year-old Nicholas Childs.
The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, at the Kum and Go located at the corner of Southwest Drive and South Culberhouse Road.
When officers arrived, they found Childs suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and called the coroner to the scene.
Malone is facing a first-degree murder charge. He is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center on a $3 million bond.
