A Family for Me: Zach

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - 13-year old Zach loves to cook, so when it came to making the day all about him… there was no better person to hang out with than Chef Kevin Gee of ASU Newport’s Hospitality Services Department.

While Zach learned how to cook, we learned a little about Zach.

He’s one of many kids in Region 8 that needs a forever family.

Adoption Specialist April Faughn says that Zach has a pretty good idea what the perfect home looks like, so at this point, he is pretty specific.

He wants a two-parent home, he definitely loves dogs, he’s kind of interested in a German Shepherd…”

Like many kids in the foster care system, Zach has had a few challenges in life. Faughn says, “…not a lot of challenges. He does get a little bored very easily, so he definitely likes to stay active. He has had a lot of instability and his past, but he has made great progress in the last nine months.”

He likes basketball, cooking, and keyboarding is his favorite class.

When we asked him what he wants to do when he grows up, he said he wants to play in the NBA.
